DUEERKOP, Lars

Welthungerhilfe, North Korea; experienced in agriculture based rural development, natural resource management and private sector promotion; regarding value chain development specialised on developing pro poor approaches and stakeholder dialogues.

Lars Düerkop is currently assigned at Welthungerhilfe Bonn seconded for an EU-funded Vegetable Grass and Legume Seed Project based in Pyongyang, Democratic Republic of Korea.

From 2010 to 2015 he worked as Senior Project Manager at ICON-INSTITUTE Cologne, Germany designing and implementing Value Chain projects. He acquired his first relevant experiences during his work as program coordinator for the German Development Cooperation. His main background is on agriculture based rural development, natural resource management and private sector promotion.

In value chain development, Lars specialises on developing pro poor approaches and stakeholder dialogues. Furthermore he develops project comprehensive approaches with Value Links Systems.

He worked for more than ten years in South East Asia, mainly Lao PDR and the Kingdom of Cambodia, being responsible for the rural development and natural resource program in the German Development Cooperation
